Cut to black and white. Comedian Ronald Frankau, wearing his usual ’toff’ outfit of top hat, monocle, white tie, tails and long cigarette holder, walks onto a stage and stands in front of the curtain. He greets us (“Hello, persons“) and says he is here to introduce nine good turns, each of which deserve another.
He mentions he is wearing a full tail coat instead of a dinner jacket, so that you get to see the braid on his trousers! He makes a joke about how a double-breasted jacket should be called ’double-tummyed’.
