Happy 15th birthday, Aurora and Anana!

The polar bear sisters celebrated their special day on Saturday, November 27, with a Frozen Princess Party. The polar bear habitat was decorated with popcorn-filled paper snowflakes, a princess castle, a birthday banner, brand new 55-gallon barrels (their favorite!) with cream cheese and peanut butter, and ice cube piles with frozen fish. The girls also opened wrapped boxes filled with shank bones and frozen melons wrapped in frozen gift wrap. Our Animal Nutrition Center made Anana and Aurora’s birthday cake with ice, pureed capelin, gelatin, and meat and ice cupcakes filled with fish and chicken. Aurora and Anana also received additional birthday enrichment items that they loved. Aurora and Anana’s birthday celebration wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication from our amazingly talented and devoted polar bear care team and our Animal Nutrition Center team!
