This week I reinterpreted the music for “Rain“, a rumba flamenco ditty from my Frontiers album (2007). Sometimes I wish I had the clarity of hindsight when I originally recorded these songs. I probably would have kept the arrangement simpler.
When frontiers came out there were a large number of CDs returned because people complained there was a “problem“ with the sound. On the original version I had included an old scratchy record sound under the intro. It only last for a few seconds, but that was long enough to upset some people. I had hoped it would invoke a feeling of nostalgia for those of us old enough to have grown up with LPs.
Now people can choose with or without, as this version is “record scratch free“. Thanks for listening.
