Allosaurus fragilis skull reference

Just some reference footage I shot of the really nice, nearly complete Allosaurus fragilis skull at Dinosaur National monument (specimen number DINO 2560). This skull is from a large Allosaurus that died in the late Jurassic Period about 150 million years ago. The river sand and mud that buried and preserved its bones are now part of a huge complex geological formation called the Morrison Formation. If you’d like to learn more about the Morrison Formation, check out my documentary Jurassic Reimagined: Huge shoutouts to monument paleontologist @Paleochick for allowing me to film this skull and a bunch of amazing fossils at the monument for my documentary Jurassic Reimagined. You can also hear Dr. Mathew Wedel in this short clip. His blog and research are a treasure trove of information about the fascinating giant long-necked herbivorous dinosaurs that lived alongside Allosaurus in the Morrison Formation. His blog is here: Enjoy! Bria
