Paperwork reads - ’America’s illustrious guests - Mr Balfour and Marshal Joffre’. Washington, United States of America. MS 6 men (including Balfour?) getting into car parked in front of pillared building with crowd of uniformed guards etc. MS as car drives off to right. Tracking shot going past mass of young girls; most with dark complexions; who are waving American flags of all sizes; lone girl in front row waves a large Union Jack. All the girls wear white blouses and dark wide ties. (One possibility is that these girls are members of a Jewish girls’ organisation and are cheering Balfour’s recent {1917} pledge of British support for a Jewish nation state in Palestine).
