Short Bursts of Creativity

Time’s been limited lately,… which gets me feeling a bit creatively edgy, itchy, impatient. That’s when I find throwing out the “work mindset” & being open to its opposite, is ripe with potential. I tried something new today with old book pages & black paint. Markmaking. For fun. I can see many purposes for these explorative sheets. They can even take more ideas & lighter marks before incorporating them into sketchbook work, composition studies or even texture in paintings. One might see this as a waste of time, paper or paint,… may not even appear appealing, but it’s not just about the way it looks. It’s about exploring creative ideas and opening windows when the mind needs some space. Love to hear your favourite ways to be creative when time is short. Good to have a shortlist of go-tos to make the entry point easier as well.
