A Hirajoshi Scale - Japanese Pentatonic | One Minute Guitar Lesson
Today we check out the A Hirajoshi scale, sometimes referred to as japanese pentatonic scale! We can think of this one as a japanese variation of the more common pentatonic scale, adapted from shamisen music for tuning of the koto. There are only 5 notes in this scale - a minor triad (A,C and E), a major second (B) and a minor sixth (F). These added intervals sound a bit more interesting than the perfect fourth and minor seventh of the pentatonic scale and I’m sure you will find some great applications for it! Full video is online on Patreon for all Shred Guitar Community members, there we learn this killer lick and the chords hidden within the scale.
