Typhoon Gaemi floods North Korea-China border! Massive flooding in Liaoning!
Typhoon Gaemi has hit China and North Korea, causing heavy rain, flooding and landslides.
The Yalu River, which separates the two countries, has exceeded dangerous levels.
Severe flooding has been reported in China’s border province of Liaoning and on the North Korean side.
This has prompted leader Kim Jong Un to declare a “state of emergency“.
Kim Jong Un “personally led“ a military rescue operation that has saved 5,000 people, state media reported.
In China, Typhoon Gaemi brought heavy rain to Guangdong Province, flooding two giant cities, Chaozhou and Meizhou.
More than 400 mm of rain fell in Chaozhou in 24 hours.
More than 90,000 people were preemptively evacuated.
Several cities in Guangdong Province have raised their emergency response levels.
An incredibly large amount of rain fell in Zixing, Hunan Province.
A total of 624 mm of rain fell in the last 24 hours, breaking the record in Hunan Province.
