Restored footage from 1918 of future 30th President of the United States Calvin Coolidge filmed on the porch of his home is Massachusetts, United States, during his campaign for election to become the Governor of Massachusetts. He went on to win the election, becoming the 48th Governor of Massachusetts from 1919 until 1921 when he became Vice President of the United States. He remained as Vice President until 1923 when the death of President Warren G. Harding occurred and Coolidge succeeded him as President. Coolidge successfully held the office of the Presidency at the 1924 election but decided not to seek re-election at the 1928 presidential election.
