CTA is a global initiative to build the world’s largest and most sensitive high energy gamma-ray observatory. Gamma rays are electromagnetic radiation of very high energy, emitted by the hottest and most extreme objects in the Universe — supermassive black holes, supernovae and maybe even remnants of the Big Bang.
