This is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia, which is regarded as the biggest muslim country in the world by population. About a thousand years ago, Java was predominantly Hindu - which is when the temple was built. The Prambanan temple is actually an ancient temple built in honor of Gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva (being the main deity) here.
