Scooter Jousting Aka Vespa Joust (1957)

Wembley, London. M/S of a man and woman standing in a field, he is dressed in armour and she is helping him put on the last few pieces. The man is Michael Ruggles and his dresser is Margaret Farquhar, the narrator explains they are preparing for a jousting session on scooters. M/S as Margaret picks up a piece of armour and attaches it to Michael’s waistband. C/U as they attach the pieces of armour at each side, the camera pans over to Margaret. C/U of arm pieces and a helmet on the ground, Margaret walks over and picks up the pieces. Various shots of Michael having the armour fitted. L/S of the other knight in armour walking towards Michael, he is Roy Cart. With him is his dresser ’Nobby’ Ross. The men walk off together and the women stand back. L/S of two mechanics stood by the motor scooters, they are Bill Andrew in white overalls and Peter Vogel in a green sweater. The two knights walk up to the scooters and get on, M/S as Peter hands a lance to Roy and starts the scooter for him. M/S a
