Winter World: How Animals Survive in Maine’s Coldest Months. Schoodic Institute Winter Festival. Friday, February 20, 2015, 7 pm, Moore Auditorium Bernd Heinrich, the award-winning author of 20 books on nature, will draw upon his 2003 New York Times bestseller Winter World and his many years of leading winter ecology courses in the woods of western Maine as a professor at the University of Vermont. His talk will explore the amazing ways in which animals ranging from chickadees to chipmunks and bats to bees make it through the harsh conditions of winter. Afterward he will answer questions and sign copies of Winter World.
