Ustad Abdul Karim Khan, Raga Basant (Vilambit and Drut together)

Ustad Abdul Karim Khan (1872-1937) is generally acknowledged to have introduced the format of modern Vilambit Khayal, where he did Raga Alaap (improvisation) within a slow rhythmic structure - using the words of the composition. But no recording of Khansahib’s long performances (in All India Radio and Concerts) has survived to this day. So - apart from those who listened to him live - one can only imagine how they were like.
