Louisville Police Officer Shoots Man Trying to Carjack Woman in Walmart Pharmacy Drive-Thru

* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Louisville, Kentucky — On August 28, 2024, at approximately 12:15 p.m., LMPD Officer Brandon Brinkley was working a non-injury collision when an off-duty LMPD Officer requested backup to assist the Kentucky State Police, at the intersection of New Cut Road in Outer Loop. Officer Brinkley responded to the scene where he was met by a trooper with the Kentucky State Police and the off-duty LMPD Officer who radioed for help. Officer Brinkley learned the trooper had been in pursuit of a vehicle that crashed in the intersection. The trooper detained the driver of the vehicle, however an armed passenger had fled from the scene toward the Peddler’s Mall in Walmart nearby. The trooper described the suspect as a male wearing an orange shirt. Officer Brinkley leaves the scene of the collision and goes to the last known location of the fleeing suspect.
