On May 13, 2015, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)’s search and rescue ship Bourbon Argos carried out its first rescue mission in the Mediterranean sea, helping 477 people mainly from Eritrea off a small wooden boat.
In its first two weeks of operations, MSF has rescued over 1,800 people at sea.
