A day is ripped from the grid of time. The red Sun is burning out, And the day is burning with it, The darkness falling, a city ablaze. Change — demand our hearts, Change — demand our eyes, In our joy and in our cry, In the bit of our veins — Change! We wait for a change. Electric light extends the day, The box of matches is bare. Blue blossom of gas on the stove. Cigarettes in hands, tea on the table, The scheme is mere. There is nothing more, it’s all inside. Change — demand our hearts, Change — demand our eyes, In our joy and our cry, In the bit of our veins — Change! We wait for a change. We can’t be proud of wisdom of eyes And skillful gestures of hands, We don’t need that to read each other. Cigarettes in hands, tea on the table, The circle is closed. And we afraid to change anything. Change — demand our hearts, Change — demand our eyes, In our joy and in our cry, In the bit of our veins — Change! We wait for a change.
