9980XE Overclocking Stream Recap: Massive MORA3 Radiator

Our 9980XE overclocking livestream was a greater success than expected, with the 9980XE finally on high frequencies (and without sub-ambient!). Ad: Buy an iBUYPOWER RDY PC (), Snowblind with LCD side panel now available The Intel i9-9980XE’s overclocking potential was a genuine disappointment in our initial review, but the upside was that the limitations were entirely thermal. We were hitting TjMax at high frequencies and voltages, something that was avoidable on the 7980XE by way of delidding and liquid metal. Unfortunately, for the 9980XE, core-to-core deltas were great enough that we had to stop short of our OC goals on the CPU. With a massive radiator from Watercool, we found a way to push a big overclock without resorting to sub-ambient cooling.
