Schubert: Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished“

- Happy birthday to the Israel Philharmonic! 86 years ago today, Schubert’s “Unfinished“ Symphony was performed at the first concert of the Palestine Orchestra. Then, in 1936, it was performed by the founding members of the orchestra, conducted by Arturo Toscanini. The years have passed. The Palestine Orchestra became the Israel Philharmonic, Lahav Shani is conducting, and we continue to celebrate with that same symphony - perfect, but still “Unfinished“.
