IDF Paratrooper Brigades continue to operate in the Gaza Strip and they have killed 200 Hamas targets in the last day. The paratroopers are an elite infantry brigade in the Israel Defense Forces and forms a major part of their ground assault. The Paratroopers raided an apartment in the Shejaiya area that was used by Hamas to store weapons, a tunnel shaft was also discovered during their operation. The Israelis are facing increasing criticism for the number of civilian casualties in Gaza.
