I’m in the business and had to do my homework on this one, once I did I realized what a rare gem it is. This is what we can prove by the codes: it left the factory as a Big Bad Blue, SST, 390, 4-speed with black corduroy interior. This one also has the Mark Donahue package which includes the front and rear spoilers (with his signature on it), side stripes, ram air hood, black out grills and the Go Pack. As if it couldn’t get any cooler, this car also has the dealer installed Sidewinder exhaust. It has been rotisserie restored with a few performance upgrades like 4 wheel disc and some go fast parts on the motor. EXTERIOR: It is fully dressed in scoops, spoilers and stripes! The body is very straight and solid. It features a ram air hood, dovetail trunk spiler, a roof spoiler and chin spoiler. Repainted it’s original Big Bad Blue color. Overall it presents itself very nicely. Correct decal stripes on the sides. The bumpers, door handles, stainless trim is excellent. The grills and taillights are excellent. Great sounding side winder exhaust, the heat shields are in excellent shape. Reproduction Magnum wheels with BFG tires. INTERIOR: It was born with black corduroy. The upholstery is all redone, the cushions are firm. This one also has the buddy seat armrest. New AMARK restored dash. It has a full set of factory gauges including a tachometer, vacuum gauge and clock. Restored wood rim steering wheel on a tilt column. It also has a rear defogger. Carpet and headliner were replaced. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 401 was the biggest, strongest engine AMC ever had to offer. With a few enhancements this one is pushing 400 hp. It has a polished intake, dual feed Holley carb, MSD ignition and a set of headers. It features power steering and brakes. Every component looks proper and clean. The metal is painted glossy. It has many chromed parts. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are glossy. Inside is solid metal with a neat spatter finish. UNDERSIDE: The front end steering and suspension has been completely apart and rebuilt. The rear suspension has also been rebuilt: new springs, bushings, shocks and upgraded swaybar. The brake system has been upgraded with disc at all four wheels. E-brake is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is very clean, it has a high torque starter. Correctly dated T10 4-speed trans. It has posi rear end. The frame rails are rock solid. The floors have had some repair and have been cleaned up and painted black. SERVICE: We inspected the car and replaced fuel sending unit and oil sending unit. This is a cool car. It checks so many boxes, you will not find another like it! I’m very intrigued by it and it takes a lot to impress me. I also feel this was a show car going back many years because of all the chromed parts. From the trunk latch to the t-handle shifter to the radiator supports and so much more. I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car’s condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership. Visit our website to see over 300 vehicles for sale! Also check out our... Facebook:
