At our sixth W’OTSAp meeting on April 21, 2021, Alan Mikhail (Yale University) hosted Michael Christopher Low (Iowa State University) and Faisal Husain (Penn State University), who presented their books, Imperial Mecca: Ottoman Arabia and the Indian Ocean Hajj () and Rivers of the Sultan: The Tigris and Euphrates in the Ottoman Empire ( Zozan Pehlivan (University of Minnesota) was the discussant.
