BMPCC6K vs Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro 12K - Camera comparison
CAM A: BMPCC6K - CAM B: Ursa Mini Pro 12K
Here is a quick side by side video between the Ursa Mini Pro 12K and the BMPCC6K. Let’s just start with the fact that the BMPCC6K is in incredible camera and to me it’s best cinema camera on the market for $2,000. About the Ursa 12k, I’ve been using it for past couple of months and it’s very hard for me to describe why is different from the BMPCC6K or even from a G2. In my opinion there are a couple things that make it special: the image is overall more rich, it has more texture, the sensor renders the motion a bit differently from any other Blackmagic camera (in 8K the rolling shutter is pretty much nonexistent) and the Ursa also retains more color information in the highlights compared to the Pocket. It’s for sure hard to tell from a Youtube video, but in my opinion the Ursa 12K is a very special camera and it reminds a lot of the Arri Alexa sensor. The BMPCC6K has a much better highlights roll-off at ISO 800, but on the Ursa you can retrieve much more information
