Natural disaster 22 June 2023. Rivers burst their banks and flooded hundreds of homes in Murcia, Spain Storms were severe on Wednesday afternoon in many parts of the country. Murcia was one of the hardest hit provinces, with very heavy rainfall and a very short time to the northwest of it. The accumulated ones were about 100 mm or more in the vicinity of Caravaca de la Cruz, Moratalla and Cehegín. It is from these areas that almost 30 calls are received, registered by 112 emergency services. The vast majority are due to strong water inflows into the houses.
