Central Europe floods: Towns under water as residents fortify riverbanks to save what’s left

While volunteers and emergency workers raced to secure river banks from Poland to Hungary, flood-stricken towns were completely underwater. Drone footage showed the extent of the flooding, with cars submerged, homes inundated, and mud and debris covering the town. The deluge has left a trail of destruction in Central Europe, and while waters were receding in many areas, others were nervously waiting for rivers to burst their banks.
