Ocean plait mat

In this video we tie another rope mat, the widely used Ocean plait mat. The mat is a flat, eight bight turk’s head. Although it has quite an interesting, intricate look to it, it is tied in only a few steps. It looks especially attractive when the knot is doubled or trippled. If you are tying this mat with parcord you will need about 7 feet for the trippled version. You may also want to try a round rope mat: Enjoy the video!
