The 1950’s collides with the 1990’s in this hilarious black and white Pop Rock timeless throwback music video. We have all been in complicated relationships. Sometimes we want to strangle the ones we love the most. You take the good with the bad but sometimes it’s good to vent about the frustrating and comical moments we go through in our relationships. I wanted to write a song that was fun yet super relatable with a mix of vocal and melodic throwbacks to the 1950’s blended with the intensity and power of the 1990’s. I have some close friends who call me and share their complicated and frustrating relationship stories with me. We laugh about it mostly but I do feel bad for them. This song celebrates all our complicated drama with the ones we love most. My producer David Caggiano and I wrote “Complicated“ together in New York back in March of this year. I dreamt the lyric and opening chorus melody and showed it to him and it sparked this amazing co-write.
