Morphic Resonance 38 Livestream - Phobos/ DJamTomorrow/ Mike Parrott

Welcome to MR38! This week we were thrilled to host the debut of Phobos (David Thompson), and returning artists DJamTomorrow (Mbira Mike) and Mike Parrott! First up was Phobos, who sent us into a dark void straight from the off! Using exqusite evolving dark texturs, David conjured up a cosmic void that was one part filled with omnipresent dread, the next with expanded psychedelic awareness. That coupled with some superb sequenced sections rounded out a set that simply was fantastic! Next, we saw the welcome return of DJamTomorrow, the guru of effects chain, expressive instrumental, led audio meditation! AKA Mbira Mike, utilizes some fascinating techniques in terms of the instruments he uses and the effects chains he puts them through. Improvising his way through some spiritually path, his sets tread the line between sonic experimentalism and floating beauty. Saturdays set was no exception, once more a fantastic performance! Lastly it was the return of Mike Parrott! And a superb one it was too! With his trademark beautiful and epic sound, Mike once more took us on an enthralling and mesmerizing voyage! Effortlessly playing passages of quiet beauty, then, building on those with intricate and perfectly balanced sequencing. Mike played and channelled his own personal blend of music evoking the same kind of majesty as Vangelis et al. A truly amazing performance indeed!
