This route is a list of superlatives: the train from Kalka-Shimla climbs the foothills of the Himalayas on a route of 96.5 kms. The railway line passes through spectacular mountain landscapes, climbs up to above sea level, drives through 103 tunnels, crosses 864 bridges and takes 919 turns.
