Laurence Vanay — Galaxies 1974 (France, Progressive Folk) Full Album
Laurence Vanay is the pseudonym for Jacqueline Thibault, wife of music producer and musician Laurent Thibault (ex-MAGMA). Her debut album is entitled ‘Galaxies’ released in 1974, a very rare item indeed and a Holy Grail for most collectors of 70’s underground French progressive. In 1975 she released ‘Evening Colours’ [as Gate Way] and a final opus still in 1975 called ‘Magic Slows’ (also released on SFP under the alias Maire Mennesson, because she did not want to take credit for a commissioned commercial covers album with a naked girl on the sleeve). Two more albums were recorded : ‘Les Soleils de La Vie’ (1977) & ‘Petite Fenêtre’, but were eventually shelved because Barclay (who was supposed to distribute the albums was unhappy with the faulty mixes) and were never released until 2015.
