The Center for Iranian Diaspora Studies and Diaspora Arts Connection proudly present Norooz Spring Dance to celebrate the arrival of the Persian New Year, Norooz, a celebration of nature, music, and movement, shared worldwide by various ethno-linguistic groups. Parts of this project highlight a rare collaboration between Aisan Hoss, a contemporary-Iranian dancer, and pioneer choreographer Haydeh Kishipour. Kishipour is one of the pillars of Iranian dance inside Iran, who has continued to teach even after the Islamic revolution. Sit back and enjoy the music and dances of Iran , Azerbaijan, and Afghanistan and let the music and beauty of the movements herald the arrival of Spring. Aisan Hoss and Dancers, Samia Karimi, Kristen DeAmicis, Mastoureh JS, and Moomena Safi are accompanied by musicians Mohammad Ebrahimi, Neema Hekmat, and Maruf Noyoft led by Nariman Assadi, in their performances.
