Nemertean (Ribbon-worm) swallowing prey

Ribbon worms are very effective predators. After immobilising a polychaete using its eversible proboscis ( which secretes toxic mucus, the ribbon worm swallows the prey whole. The species in this footage is the marine Ramphogordius sanguineus. Footage courtesy of Serena A. Caplins
