Quorum: Anastasia Smirnova

Anastasia Smirnova, who was arrested in Russia for posting an LGBT banner at the Sochi Olympics, talks with Russian-American journalist Masha Gessen on having to flee her country, but continuing to fight against Putin’s anti-LGBT campaign with the International LGBT Association (ILGA). Quorum: Global LGBT Voices is a new project of The Daily Beast, in collaboration with nine leading international human rights organizations. Its mission is to lift up the voices of non-Western LGBT activists sharing compelling stories about their struggles and successes.
