Metallica Broken Beat and Scarred rhythm guitar lesson

Patreon support is appreciated! My tab and lesson on Broken, Beat & Scarred by Metallica. This is another one of the Death Magnetic complex songs. Tuning: E standard. One of the riffs is rather hard - the one that goes right before the verse, where a quick three strokes of palm-muted E are incorporated throughout the otherwise easy melody line. Make sure to practice that one dilligently! As for the superfast riffs in the fast section of the song, it looks to me that James plays them using alternate picking, rather than downpicking, and that’s understandable considering how fast the song becomes! One tip with these fast riffs is to plan beforehand all the up and downstrokes, and whether you should start each bar on an upstroke or a downstroke etc. I talk more about this in the video!
