IDEC Record sail across the Indian Ocean

The French crew of IDEC Sport, a 105-foot high-tech trimaran designed to break blue water sailing speed records, is attempting to a non-stop circumnavigation faster than has ever been done. Now in the Pacific Ocean, the crew broke a lesser record in December 2015, crossing the Indian Ocean record from Cape Agulhas, South Africa to Cape Leeuwin, SW Australia in less than 5-1/2 days, whereas no one had managed to do this stretch in less than six days.
