Making Movie アコースティックギタリスト・押尾コータローのニューアルバムが到着！ 「PASSENGER」はまるで世界各地を旅しながら綴られたポストカード集のような仕上がりとなった。 今年1月には既にショートバージョンのミュージックビデオも公開されている、サキソフォン奏者上野耕平とのコラボ曲「冬の晴レルヤ feat. 上野耕平 (2020年MBSお天気部冬のテーマ曲)」の他、光に向かって前に進むメッセージを込めた「GOLD RUSH」、未来の子供達の楽園を描いた「EDEN」、12弦ギターと異国情緒溢れる響きを組み合わせた「Shanghai Lover」、フレットレスギターを使った衝撃のサウンド「Smoky Slider」、パプースとスティングのアンサンブルが愛らしい「週末旅行」、押尾のルーツともいえるラグタイム調の「Heart Break Cats」、80年代のJ-POPを聴いているかのような「少年の僕」、バリトンギターをフィーチャーしたバラード「アサガオ」などなど。 今回はなんと15曲のレコーディングに16本の異なるギターを使用。初回生産限定盤のBlu-ray/DVDには「GOLD RUSH」「EDEN」のミュージックビデオとメイキング映像も収録するなど、見どころ聴きどころ満載の1枚です。 New Album PASSENGER slated for release on September 30, 2020! Making Movie A new album by acoustic guitarist Kotaro Oshio! This album titled PASSENGER is like a collection of postcards from a journey around the world. The short version of the music video has already been released this year in January. In addition to a collaboration by saxophonist Kohei Ueno, “Hallelujah for Winter feat. Kouhei Ueno” (the 2020 MBS weather section’s winter theme song), the album features: “GOLD RUSH” with its message about moving forward toward the light “EDEN” that portrays a children’s paradise of the future “Shanghai Lover,” an exotic melody performed with a 12-string guitar “Smoky Slider” whose sensational sound is delivered with a fretless guitar “Weekend Trip” with a charming ensemble of the Papoose and Sting mini guitars “Heart Break Cats,” a ragtime tune going back to Oshio’s roots “I was a Boy” that is reminiscent of 80s J-POP “Morning Glory” a ballad featuring a baritone guitar To record the 15 songs of the album, Oshio used 16 different types of guitars.
