CO-CHAIR DAVID OYELOWO INSPIRES and EDUCATES at the 2023 GEANCO HOLLYWOOD GALA

Co-founder Afam Onyema and his family formed the GEANCO Foundation as a way to support, educate, and assist with the lifelong journeys of young women in Nigeria. The name GEANCO is the name of the first names of the members of his family. Nigerian girls who come from war-torn areas have suffered various aspects of mutilation and mental discrepancies due to severe trauma. Event Co-Chair actor, David Oyelowo (Midnight Sky, Selma, Queen of Katwe) formed the Geanco Scholarship Fund for Girls to provide education, medical supplies counseling, and anything needed to ensure their vital protection. This 2023 GEANCO Hollywood Gala celebration was dedicated to the continuation of the foundation’s goal and support of these young women.
