The cable cars were grandiose and comprehensive there, tightly entwining the surrounding mountains and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. In Listvyanka, of course, the cable car is more modest in every way, but it was also nice to float slowly and swaying in an armchair above the treetops. Our plan was to visit Chersky Stone (not to be confused with Chersky Peak), and going up by cable car is certainly the shortest, most pleasant and comfortable way to do it. Chersky Stone is a viewing platform on the top of one of the mountains in the coastal zone of Lake Baikal, near the village of Listvyanka. The height of the peak is about seven hundred and fifty meters. The view is beautiful! And, as if especially for a beautiful photo, a rocky outcrop ... Very picturesque! This place was named after the outstanding Siberian explorer Ivan Dmitrievich Chersky, who lived in the 19th century and devoted much of his life to the exploration of the shores of Lake Baikal. And, of course, in life there should be a place for a heroic deed! At least in the life of young people ... Olga: “I feel great! But there are two small comments ... First, hitting the brake is really uncomfortable! It looks like your elbow is breaking now ... Second, when you are already going up, you concentrate, you squeeze your hands and jaws tighter ... And when you hit the brakes, your jaws tighten even more and it’s very uncomfortable.“ And now it’s time for a short summary of today... Our first trip to Lake Baikal is coming to an end and it was very rich in impressions. The Taltsy Museum, the Baikal Museum, Listvyanka, delicious Baikal fish on the shore, a boat with a window into the depths, a cable car, the Chersky Stone and as a crowning glory the heroic descent with the Vanya and Olya by Zipline. Agreed, for an excursion the program was very rich. And the fact that we felt well rested and very satisfied, despite the tiredness, is certainly the merit of our excellent guide Andrei. For this, of course, a big human thank you to him! LINKS: Irkutsk. Hotel Central: Irkutsk. First day: Taltsy. Оn the way to Lake Baykal: Listvyanka Shaman Stone: Listvyanka. Golomyanka: Listvyanka.
