Mycelial Networks between Reality: The Performance
Thanks for tuning in! This was Nanotopia’s 1st mixed reality performance.
at 1:46 in you will hear the Mycelium, Pleurotus ostreatus start-up. The slightly sad horn-like sounds are coming from the Mycelium. Myself and Andrei are controlling and playing the sequences, and waves. I show the Mycelium with electrodes placed onto & within it. These electrodes are running into a biodata-sonification module. The module detects micro-fluctuations in conductivity (between 1,000-100,000 sec) and translates this data into MIDI notes and controls.
Thank you again to The Goethe-Institut Montreal & WiiT for inviting us!
