Ambassador Prof. Dr. Manuel Hassassian yesterday, in which the Ambassador expressed his anguish about the death and destruction in Gaza and, also, the West Bank, the lack of support for ending the war by Western political leaders, and expressed full support for LaRouche’s Oasis Plan and the peace through development concept. He was educated in Jerusalem, the American University in Beirut, and earned his MA in international relations and PhD in political science at Toledo and Cincinnati universities in Ohio in the U.S. He was a professor and eventually Executive Vice President of Bethlehem University on the West Bank of Palestine. He taught an Israel-Palestine conflict resolution course together with Israeli professor Edward Kaufman at the University of Maryland for 26 years. He was also the PLO’s leading advisor about the status of Jerusalem. H.E. Ambassador Prof. Dr. Manuel Hassassian then became the Palestinian Authority’s Ambassador to Great Britain for 13 years, Hungary for one year, and now Denmark for the last four years.
