Germany 1914 // HD Colorization — Corporals in Training Arrive at Wetzlar

Stunningly restored footage showing the arrival of corporals in training in Wetzlar, Germany. At Wetzlar station the soldiers are received by gendarme Otto Wallenreich among others. After the arrival of the train, local notabilities, including the non-commissioned officer of Wetzlar District Command, welcome the corporals in training. Lead by the captain, his adjutants and the company lieutenant, the brigade exits the station, marches through Bahnhofstraße and takes formation at Wetzlar cathedral square. Because the mayor of Wetzlar is indisposed on this day, councillor Siegmund Hiepel inspects the soldiers together with the commander. The brigade marches off.
