The Fonds de Garantie des Dépôts et de Résolution (FGDR) was created by the law of
25 June 1999 to compensate you in the event that your bank or investment firm is declared
as having failed and your assets have become unavailable:
› the deposit guarantee scheme covers amounts deposited in current accounts or savings
accounts;
› the investor compensation scheme covers securities and other financial instruments.
The FGDR, whose mission is to serve the public interest, protects customers in the event
that their institution fails.
Discover in this tutorial the 4-step compensation procedure.
