1958 Goliath 1100 Combi - Purchase - Basis of the Subaru 1000

I purchased this car earlier this year in CT. Originally from MA, it’s an original 1958 Goliath. Goliath was one of the Brands owned by Borgward of Bremen Germany. When Borgward and Goliath went bankrupt in 1961, Fuji Heavy Industry of Japan purchased the rights and manufacturing equipment for this car. It’s the basis of the 1966 Subaru 1000. Subaru leapfrogged ahead of it’s competition in technology by acquiring Goliath.
