Releasing a rescued bat: this is Boyce, going home.

Boyce is an adult male Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who got himself stuck in a pool enclosure, and went swimming to get away from me. He appeared uninjured, but he was kept in care for a couple of days to make sure he was OK. I love taking them for release. As they near the colony they begin to smell it and hear the other bats and they get agitated and want to escape their carrier. I open the cage, and they just fly off. Boyce flew with nice height and got his bearings and flew across the creek. YAY. I released a bat today and it made me happy.
