El Turbión (Himno del EPL) - The Storm (Anthem of the EPL)

The anthem of the Popular Liberation Army (Ejército Popular de Liberación), a Colombian guerrilla group initially of Maoist orientation and later siding with Albania in the Sino-Albanian split. It was the fourth-largest of the main four guerrilla groups in Colombia during the Cold War, behind the FARC, M-19, and ELN, working together with them as part of the Simón Bolívar Guerrilla Coordinating Board. Much of the EPL demobilised in 1991, but a faction of dissidents continues to fight to this day much like the FARC dissidents. The melody of this anthem is based on a Colombian naval song called “Canción del Pirata“ (“Song of the Pirate“). It was formerly used as the anthem of the FARC before being replaced in 1984 by the FARC’s modern anthem.
