Deer Freaks Out Because of Hurricane-force Winds | Derecho (Iowa, August 10, 2020)
Terrifying scenes showing a front yard getting devastated by hurricane-force winds and gusts of up to 230 km/h. Notice the deer freaking out in fear at the beginning of the video (0:35) and the USA flag resisting the storm till the end!
The spectacular footage was captured by Tyler Speidel on a GoPro in 4K during the derecho happening in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on August 10, 2020. The winds reached top speeds equivalent to a category 4 hurricane and destroyed many residential and commercial properties, as corn and soybean fields. The damage was catastrophic and cleanup remains ongoing (find out more here: ).
A derecho is a widespread, long-lived, straight-line wind storm that is associated with a fast-moving group of severe thunderstorms. Derechos can cause hurricane-force winds, tornadoes, heavy rains, and flash floods (find out more here: ).
