Bella Davidovich - Chopin recital - Amsterdam, 15 april 1984

This is the radio recording of one of Bella Davidovich’s Chopin evenings, that she gave in Amsterdam. There were 4 in a row ! All 4 are now available on internet. Most of her career she performed in Russia, after she won the Chopin competition of Warsaw in 1949. Chopin and Schumann are very much in the center of her repertoire, although her repertoire was much wider. It is only since the 70’s and 80’s that she gave recitals and concerts in Europe. The Amsterdam public was very fond of her, she gave a recital every year at the Concertgebouw, besides that also several concert in cities in Holland. It was the Philips record label, that recognized her great artistry and recorded several piano concerts and solo piano repertoire, which was recently reissued by Decca in a box in the series : Eloquence. Its worth an investment. Especially her 2 Chopin concertos are breathtaking ! Again thanks to Bella Davidovich for all the wonderful music!
