Brazil’s newly elected President, who goes by the name “Lula” is well left of the incumbent, Jair Bolsonaro, and among Lula’s proposed policies is a plan to coin a new Latin America-wide currency known as the “Sur,” which it is hoped will help supplant the U.S. dollar as the currency of exchange among the many countries that make up South and Central America. But if that is Lula’s plan, why are Joe Biden and other Western leaders so eager to embrace him as Brazil’s new leader? Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger wonder whether the “Sur” will be a purely digital currency, which might make its introduction more palatable to the World Economic Forum types who want greater control over individuals’ access to money.
