Dmitriy Bilyk - “On the Stolarsky invariance principle“ | MoCCA’20

The talk “On the Stolarsky invariance principle“ by Dmitriy Bilyk on the Moscow Conference on Combinatorics and Applications at MIPT. Annotation: In 1973 Stolarsky proved a remarkable identity relating the quadratic spherical cap discrepancy and the sum of Euclidean distances on the sphere. We shall discuss various extensions and generalizations of this interesting principle (including a recent very general form for compact spaces with invariant measures) as well as their applications to various problems in discrete geometry and optimal measures.
