Subscribe!: Twitter: The Kominternlied (Anthem of the Comintern, also Гимн Коминтерна) is an international marching song and anthem dedicated to the Third International, or Comintern (Communist International), a supranational alliance of communist parties from around the world - spearheaded by Stalin’s Soviet Union under the direction of then-Secretary-General of the Comintern (and later Foreign Minister of the USSR) Vyacheslav Molotov. The song was written for the tenth anniversary of the Third International in 1929. The music was composed by Hanns Eisler, with lyrics from Bertold Brecht and Franz Jahnke. The lyrics were translated into Russian that year by Ilia Frenkel.
